What this challenge is about.
You are an economic analyst at SunVista. The CFO needs a report on the current and expected Eurozone business cycle to guide the timing of a €500M investment in new solar capacity. Your tasks: (1) Identify and analyze at least three leading indicators (e.g., PMI, consumer confidence, yield curve) to assess the cycle phase; (2) Forecast the cycle over the next 2-3 years using a simple model or scenario analysis; (3) Evaluate how different cycle phases affect electricity prices, subsidy policies, and financing costs; (4) Recommend whether to invest now, delay, or phase the investment. Success means a data-backed recommendation that balances risk and return. Constraints: use only publicly available data from Eurostat, ECB, etc.
