Analysis
Cash Flow Diagnosis for a Tokyo D2C Skincare Startup
Overview
What this challenge is about.
Working in a team, take the provided income statements and balance sheets for FY2023 and FY2024 and build a cash flow statement using the indirect method. Then analyze the drivers of the cash gap: changes in inventory, receivables, payables, capex, and financing. Constraints: present results in a single deck (max 12 slides), include at least three ratio analyses (e.g., cash conversion cycle, current ratio, operating cash flow margin), and propose three operational levers the founders could pull. Success looks like the founders understanding why a profitable P&L still produced negative operating cash flow, and leaving with prioritized actions.
