Design-System Component Library in Figma for a Travel Brand
Overview
What this challenge is about.
Audit the existing app across the 7 squads to inventory every variant of each component (screenshot grid). For the 12 priority components, design canonical variants using Figma component properties + variables: states (default, hover, focus, disabled), sizes (sm/md/lg), variants (primary/secondary/ghost), light/dark theme. Write 1-page documentation per component covering intended use + don'ts. Plan a 4-week adoption rollout: week 1 announce + library publish, weeks 2-3 squad-by-squad migrations, week 4 audit. Deliver the Figma library, the adoption metrics dashboard (% of new screens using library components), and a 5-page rollout brief.
The Brief
What you'll do, and what you'll demonstrate.
Replace 14 inconsistent component variants across 7 squads with a single Figma component library covering the 12 most-used components.
Earning criteria — what you'll demonstrate
- Audit a real product to surface component-variant sprawl
- Design canonical Figma components with properties + variables
- Write component documentation that prevents misuse
- Plan and measure design-system adoption across multiple squads
