Strategy
Ideation Sprint for a Climate-Tech Spinout from TU Munich
Overview
What this challenge is about.
Produce a beachhead market recommendation grounded in opportunity sizing, founder-market fit, and time-to-revenue analysis. You must generate at least 8 distinct application concepts using divergent ideation techniques, then converge using a weighted scoring framework that explicitly accounts for technical feasibility, capital intensity, and the founders' backgrounds (one chemical engineer, one ex-McKinsey sustainability lead). Constraints: assume no additional fundraising for 9 months, EU-only operations initially, and that the sorbent regenerates at 95°C. Success looks like a defensible 1-page recommendation with a 90-day validation plan the founders could execute Monday morning.
The Brief
What you'll do, and what you'll demonstrate.
Which single beachhead application should the spinout commit to in order to reach €500K ARR or a strategic LOI within 12 months?
Earning criteria — what you'll demonstrate
- Apply structured ideation techniques to generate and prune venture opportunities
- Evaluate founder-market fit as a determinant of early venture success
- Translate technical capability into commercial beachhead strategy
- Design lean validation experiments aligned to runway constraints
