Run a Mock Algorithmic-Discrimination Investigation for a Hiring-Tech Vendor
Overview
What this challenge is about.
As a 3-person team, design and execute a 3-week mock inquiry. Produce: (1) the demand letter you imagine the regulator sending (scope, legal basis, data requested); (2) the vendor's response package: data-protection impact assessment update, bias audit results, model card, human-oversight documentation, training-data lineage; (3) a 90-minute exec readout summarizing posture, gaps, and a remediation plan. Use the EU AI Regulation's high-risk obligations and EU non-discrimination law as the dual legal anchor. Be specific about which artifacts already exist (assume realistic vendor maturity) and which would need to be built under pressure.
The Brief
What you'll do, and what you'll demonstrate.
Execute a mock algorithmic-discrimination investigation against an HR-tech vendor and produce a full response package plus exec readout.
Earning criteria — what you'll demonstrate
- Anticipate regulator demands under the EU AI Regulation and non-discrimination law
- Produce the artifacts a high-risk AI vendor must hold ready
- Run a structured incident-style exercise across legal, ML, and product
- Communicate posture and gaps to a C-suite audience
