Overview
What this challenge is about.
Import floor plans for 4 buildings (around 38,000 m2 total) into Ekahau or equivalent. Run a predictive survey targeting -65 dBm RSSI in patient rooms + -60 dBm in operating theatres, with 6 GHz coverage prioritised in equipment-dense areas. Plan AP placement minimising co-channel interference and respecting the 6 GHz Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) constraints. Model concurrent-device load (8,000 devices across 110 APs estimated) and confirm airtime budgets. Propose a 4-phase rollout (building-by-building, weekends, fallback to legacy SSID). Deliver the Ekahau project, an AP placement plan (PDF), a spectrum-allocation memo, and a 10-page deployment proposal for the CIO.
The Brief
What you'll do, and what you'll demonstrate.
Design a Wi-Fi 6E network for a 4-building hospital supporting 8,000 concurrent devices with no dead zones and a defensible 4-phase rollout.
Earning criteria — what you'll demonstrate
- Run a predictive Wi-Fi 6E site survey in a clinical environment
- Design AP layouts that meet RSSI + co-channel + AFC constraints
- Plan spectrum allocation across 2.4 / 5 / 6 GHz with concurrent-device load
- Sequence a safety-critical Wi-Fi rollout phase-by-phase
