Ewance Adds Identity Verification to Protect the Value of Its Credentials

In a year when AI made skills easy to fake, Ewance is adding an identity-verification step — friction by design — so every certificate is tied to a verified person who genuinely did the work.

Ewance today introduced identity verification across its platform: before a student can unlock and share a credential, they confirm who they are, binding every certificate to a verified individual. The move makes Ewance's certificates far harder to fake — and, the company argues, far more valuable to the recruiters who rely on them.

It is friction by design. A credential is only worth as much as the trust behind it, and in a year when generative AI has made claimed skills easy to manufacture, Ewance chose to add a verification step rather than chase frictionless sign-ups. Students complete real challenges, and now confirm their identity — so a certificate proves two things at once: that real work was done, and that a real, named person did it.

Verification a recruiter can check — and trust

For recruiters, the change closes a quiet gap. Every Ewance credential can now be checked independently at verify.ewance.com — confirming not just that a challenge was completed, but that it was completed by the candidate presenting it. The records are tamper-evident, underpinned by Ewance's credentialing partnership with LearnCoin, so a verified certificate cannot be quietly altered after the fact.

Adding friction is the last thing a growth team wants to hear. But we made a hard call: a certificate anyone can fake is worth nothing. By verifying identity, we make sure the person who earns a credential is the person who shows up with it — and that is what makes it worth something to an employer.

And for students: one click to LinkedIn

Verification does not have to mean friction at the finish line. Once a student has earned and verified a credential, they can add it to their LinkedIn profile in a single click — turning a verified Ewance certificate into a public, checkable signal exactly where recruiters are already looking. The work is proven, the identity is confirmed, and the credential travels with the student.

Trust is the whole product. Once a credential can be verified — the work, and the person behind it — it stops being a line on a CV and becomes evidence an employer can act on. Making it one click to share that proof on LinkedIn just puts it where it counts.
