Build a Participatory Budgeting Decision Tool for a City Government
Overview
What this challenge is about.
You will design and prototype a participatory budgeting tool for one neighborhood pilot with around 30 candidate projects and a fixed EUR 2 million budget. Residents vote on weighted criteria (need, accessibility, sustainability) and the tool shows the resulting optimal portfolio plus a few near-optimal alternatives. Build in Streamlit (or web equivalent). Run a 10-resident think-aloud test, iterate once, and write a rollout proposal for the city's participation department.
